WHO ARE WE?
Who are we? We are just plain folk who love collies. Our philosophy here is that our collies are members of our family. They participate in all family activities and are loved deeply. We are building toward limited future breeding, not for monetary gain, but to strengthen our collie family and those of our friends, to supply ourselves in collies forever and with the extra collies from our breeding to supply them to loving homes as family members in a forever home. We will be thorough in making sure they have a good home, for as members of our family they deserve no less. We are striving for the fluffy, old-fashioned look from solid bloodlines of collies who have great health, normal eyes, great personalities, keeping their natural herding abilities and will make great additions to our collie family. To us, collies are not just mere dogs, or a asset to be owned. They are loved and adored members of our Family. We will give back to them the deep loyalty, deep love and treat them intelligently, for that is how they gift us and we strive to give them nothing less. Finally, we dedicate our efforts to the memory of the collie that gave us everything she had, the collie who taught us what true love really is about. To this gallant collie we dedicate this collie family in her name, to honor her memory. To our Niamh of the Misty Meadow, 1997-2006 RIP.

Niamh of the Misty Meadow
Niamh, whose given name was Riverwood All That Jazz came into my life one week after our first collie, MacKenzie died tragically of seizures. My heart was broken and it was by total chance we found Niamh. Of her 9 1/2 years on this earth, we were blessed with her presence for 8 1/2 years of her way too short life. Niamh loved deeply, was loyal beyond compare and we do not exaggerate when we say she never did anything naughty. She was full of life, energy and joy up to her final day. There are too many good memories to relate here. We could go on forever. Her final morning consisted of her going out and collapsing under a bush. We carried her cold body back into the house and warmed her up, giving her water and encouragement. She shortly came out of her shock and tried to sit up three times and then lay back down and went back into shock. I held her in my arms and called her name and she came out of her shock and looked up at me and recognized me and gave me one last loving look and then gently died in my arms. To say she was loved is an understatement. As her best friend, I loved her more than any other being on this earth other than my wife and children. Everyday I think of my Niamh and daily visit her grave under our Apple Tree. She is deeply missed. Albert Payson Terhune summed it up best when he hoped that someday he would be met in the afterlife by a swirling mass of his collies. We sincerely hope that when we pass away, we go to heaven and are met at the gates by our collies, especially one enthusiastic wonderful collie named Niamh.
